Iberian Lynx 2026 Photographic Trips - August & October
I am running 2 trips in 2026 to give you the opportunity to photograph these beautiful animals. This trip is entirely hide based, we will be using a variety of hide locations to maximise your chances.
With wildlife photography, sightings are never guaranteed and where patience is essential. Our chosen locations have been tried and tested to give you the highest chance of success.
The trip itself is not physically demanding, just short walks to the hides. The temperature in August can exceed the high 30s, with small fans in the hides, whilst in October the temperature will be cooler.
Our hide trips will be early morning and late afternoon, each hide session will last around 3-4 hours, where you do need to sit quietly as the lynx are very shy. These hides are not baited, but they are located close to waterholes and on regular paths the lynx use.
Other species you may see such as Iberian Rabbits, Green Woodpecker, Azure-winged Magpie, Turtle Doves, Partridge, Blue Tits & Pheasants.
This trip gives you an great opportunity to see and photograph the Iberian Lynx in the Wild.

Cost Euros 1900 (single, or double room for couples).

Balance due 90 days prior the start of the trip.

October 2026
Dates 22 – 27 October, 2026.
Cost Euros 1900 (single, or double room for couples).

The Hotel
We will be staying at Hotel Ecologico El Tora, Santa Cruz de Mudela
Rooms are ensuite, with free wi fi, fridge and air-conditioned. The hotel has a lift for easy access. Breakfast is served in the hotel cafeteria.
The hotel is set in the centre of Santa Cruz de Mudela, walking distance to a supermarket and variety of restaurants.
Transfers
Group transfers are included in the price from Madrid Airport to the hotel / return. Daily transfers to and from the hotel/hides are provided.
Nearer to the time I will advise the best flight timings to arrive into Madrid for the transfer, or if you want to explore Madrid for a couple of days before or afterwards, I would be very happy to help arrange/suggest some central hotels for you.
Equipment
Sightings can vary in distance, a tripod is required for the hide. Suggested lens is 100 – 500mm in distance and ideally f.2.8 or F4 would be perfect for the low light.
