SPAIN BIRD HIDES
Just 1 hour 15 minutes drive from Madrid and you arrive in an area of lagoons and vineyards. This area is well known for raptors.
Our location has over 20 bird hides well positioned, some land, some water based, to capture different bird species in morning or afternoon light.
Some of our target species during the trip: Marsh Harrier, Spanish Imperial Eagle, Bonelli’s Eagle, Hoopoe, Little Owl, Grebes, Flamingo, Lesser Kestrel, Avocet, Plovers, Red Fox, Kingfisher, Eurasian Roller.
However, with wildlife photography you never know what you will see or experience.
It is easy walking, with some hides adapted for accessible use. You will be driven from the main area to each of the hides.
A zoom lens of 400mm to 500mm is suitable with a tripod. You are photographing through glass in front of the hides, however no reflection is caused, and this ensures no disturbance to the birds.
I have a selection of dates for 2025 & 2026, small groups led by myself and/or my husband, Tom a wildlife photographer as well. During the sessions we will be available to assist with settings and techniques for you to capture the shot. During the downtime, we offer discussion & feedback on the hide session & photos taken if required.
2025 Dates:
Dates: 20 September - 25 September - FULL
2026 Dates:
Dates: 1 June - 6 June
5 nights / 6 days, during this time you will have 9 photo hide opportunities, early morning and late afternoon to make use of the light & temperature. Each session will be in a different hide, giving you a variety of species to photograph.
Price: Euros 1700 per person sharing
This includes transfers to and from Madrid Airport
5 nights accommodation with en suite facilities & breakfast
Daily transport to and from the hotel / hides
Photographic assistance/guidance on techniques & settings
Excluded:
