Typical Day

Early mornings begin with a light breakfast before heading to the hides.

Each session lasts around 4–5 hours, usually running through the morning and into lunchtime.

Quiet, focused time spent watching and waiting in the lynx’s natural habitat.

After returning to the hotel around midday, there’s time to rest, review images, or enjoy a relaxed lunch.

Afternoon sessions begin mid-to-late afternoon and continue until after sunset, returning to the hotel in time for dinner at one of the local restaurants.

Some days bring unforgettable moments as a lynx appears in perfect light. Other days you may sit quietly for hours and see very little.

Perhaps a few rabbits or birds visiting the waterholes.

That’s all part of the experience, and patience is always rewarded in its own way.

Other species you may encounter include Iberian Rabbits, Green Woodpecker, Azure-winged Magpie, Turtle Dove, Partridge, Blue Tit, and Pheasant.

Every day offers new possibilities.

Patience and stillness often bring the most rewarding moments.

Important Information

With wildlife photography, sightings are never guaranteed, and patience is essential.

The hides have been carefully chosen for the best chances of success, though some days you may not see a lynx at all.

The experience is not physically demanding, with only short walks required to reach the hides.

You’ll need to remain seated and quiet during each session, as the lynx are extremely shy and easily disturbed.

In August, temperatures can exceed the high 30s (small fans are provided in the hides),

while October offers cooler, more comfortable conditions.
